- The problem
- Raccoons, squirrels, skunks and bats in roof spaces, chimneys and under decks. Legally distinct from insect work in most states and provinces, and often seasonally restricted while young are dependent.

- Heavy movement overhead rather than scratching, damage to soffits or vents, a strong smell.

- Humane exclusion — one-way doors and sealing — rather than poison. Bats in particular are protected in much of North America.
